In honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month, Royce Family Dentistry visited the 2nd grade, and 4th & 5th grade classes at Pineville Elementary!
First, we spent time with the 2nd graders reading Doug the Sugarbug, teaching the kids healthy brushing habits, flossing, and cavity prevention.
Next, we visited the 4th & 5th grade classes and presented information about good oral health, including healthy brushing habits, flossing, and scheduling regular dental check-ups. We also discussed smoking and how it leads to cavities, gum disease, and can even cause oral cancer. We were happy to share tips on how they could encourage friends and family members to stop smoking in order to maintain good oral hygiene.
At the end of our time at Pineville Elementary we were happy to give each child a “Healthy Smile” kit that included a new toothbrush and toothpaste. The dentists at Royce Family Dentistry make it their mission to give back to the community through service and education. Thank you Pineville Elementary!
